The Soul of Hollywood

The Soul of Hollywood is a generative sound and text installation which was created for ‘Blur of the Otherworldly’, at the Center for Art and Visual Culture in Baltimore, Maryland.

This piece, which is part of our ongoing work with sound effects, is composed of the sounds which are returned from a Hollywood Sound Effects library when the term ‘Spirit’ is input. These sounds are played back through resonators attached to 8 3′x6′ sheets of glass. The titles of the sounds are projected on one wall of the space.
